It was a one-game weekend for the Southern Alberta Chaos as they kicked off June with a matchup against the Calgary Axemen. Sunday afternoon saw the Chaos host the Axemen as the two teams looked for a win to start the new month.
The Chaos would score early and often as they took a 4-0 lead after the first period. The second saw the team exploded for 11 goals before wrapping it up with a 19-1 victory in the final frame. Austin Sheen was unstoppable with eight goals and four assists while Connor Materi had a hat trick and eight assists. Other Chaos players to get in on the offence included Parker Forrest who had four assists, Hunter Skrove and Grant Petronech had a goal and two assists each, Luke Sheridan had two goals and an assist, Hael Maxwell-Lyster had three assists, Brock Higa had two assists, Jett Matisho, Ryder Douglas, and Beckett Davis all had a goal and an assist, Kayden Kress had a single goal, and Evan Rieger chipped in with an assist.
The Chaos now sit tied for second place in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League Tier II with a 5-2 record. Next up is a home matchup against the Calgary Wranglers who are also 5-2 and tied for second place. Game time is 6 p.m. on June 8 at the Taber Ice Arena.
