The Central Alberta Hockey League continued this past weekend for Taber Oil King teams as they were back on the ice in search of some strong play.
U11
The U11 Oil Kings saw two games this past weekend as they hit the road for both games. On Saturday morning, the Oil Kings were locked into a battle against Magrath and thanks to a five-goal third period, Taber was able to leave town with a 10-7 win. Barrett DeVlieger racked up a hat trick and an assist, Jaxson Tychsen also had a hat trick, Mitchell Kimoto had a pair of goals, Lincoln Braun had two assists, Ryden Baker and Hudson Ilczynski both scored a goal, and Dalan Blasetti and Logan Rabusic had an assist each. Dylan Volk was between the pipes for Taber and the netminder made 27 saves on 34 shots.
Sunday saw the Oil Kings back on the road for a game against Brooks. Taber was able to cruise to a 7-3 win in the game. Blasetti scored two goals and had an assist, Braun had a goal and an assist, Baker and Cage Holcek had two assists each, Kimoto, Rabusic, Wyatt Valgardson, and Cooper Ross all tallied a goal, and Tychsen found the score sheet with an assist. Volk was back in net making 29 saves on 32 shots.
The next CAHL action for the U11 Oil Kings comes on Feb. 4.
U13
Looking at a pair of games over the weekend, the U13 Oil Kings saw two tough battles. First up was a game against Brooks and the visiting team was able to secure a 13-6 win. Ryder Nielsen scored a hat trick, Jaxson Badura had a pair of goals and an assist, Julian Woordman had three assists, Seth Jespersen and Kash Kover chipped in with two assists each, Blake Untereiner had a single snipe, and Jenner Workman had an assist. Brodyn Sutka was busy in net facing 62 shots and making 49 stops.
