All three Taber Golden Suns teams were in action this past weekend as the South Central Alberta Hockey League moves into November.

U13

Two games were on the U13 schedule this past weekend as the Suns hit the road on Saturday to take on the Bow Valley Timberwolves. The Suns would open the scoring in the first with Delphin De Boer scoring a shorthanded goal. Bow Valley would answer a few seconds later on the same power play. After finding themselves back on the kill, De Boer scored another shorty and the Suns retook the lead. Before the end of the first though, Bow Valley would pot a pair of goals and take a one-goal lead into the second period.

The Timberwolves would score the first goal of the second period to extend their lead to two. With under seven minutes to play in the period, Nelson Sonna Soufo would score the Suns’ third goal of the game as Aiden Vande Munt collected an assist. Heading into the intermission, Bow Valley held a 4-3 lead.

The Timberwolves would pot an early power play goal in the third to take a two-goal lead. A few minutes later, the Timberwolves would score a shorthanded goal themselves and the score was 6-3. De Boer would score his third shorthanded goal of the game with under 10 minutes to play and the Suns looked to get back in the game as they were only down by a pair. Unfortunately, the Timberwolves would score three straight late in the third and the home team would take the game 9-4. Jack Lukacs was the starter in net for Taber and the netminder made 35 saves on 44 shots.
