Two games were on the schedule this past weekend as the team hit the road for both games.

On Saturday night, the team took on the Wheatland Chiefs. The Suns didn’t have an answer for the Chiefs as the home team would skate to a 10-2 victory. Brinley Degenstein and Rylan Millo each had a goal while Heath Hansen, Rhett Klemen, and Ryan Holm collected an assist. Kieran Hancock had the vast majority of work in the game, making 40 saves on 50 shots. Landon Porteous also got into the game briefly making a single save on one shot.

Sunday afternoon saw the team take on the Foothills Bisons. By the time the final buzzer sounded out in the arena, the scoreboard showed a 4-4 tie. Millo had two goals and an assist, Hunter Van Vaerenbergh had a goal and an assist, Ashton Lukacs had a single goal, and Brinley and Kade Degenstein, Klemen, Hayden Smith, and Ryan Holm each had an assist. Porteous got the start for Taber between the pipes and made 42 saves on 46 shots.

The coming weekend sees another pair of games for the Suns as they start a two-game homestead. On Friday night, the Red Deer Elks come to town for an 8:30 p.m. game and the weekend ends with an 8 p.m. game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday night.

The Suns sit in fourth place in the South Conference with a 10-17-4 record and 24 points.
