It was a slower weekend for South Central Alberta Hockey League in Taber as only the U15s had games.

The U13 Suns were off this past weekend as they prepare for the February portion of the SCAHL season.

The team returned with a pair of home games this weekend. On Saturday, the Olds Grizzlys come to town for a 3 p.m. matchup and then on Sunday, the team welcomes in the Central Alberta Selects for a 1 p.m. game.

With two games on tap this past weekend, the U15 Suns hit the road for both.

On Saturday, the team matched up against the Central Alberta Selects. The teams traded goals throughout the first and second, and with no scoring in the third, the game would end in a 3-3 deadlock. Sun goals came from Barrett Van Nistelrooy, Koye Larson, and Cage Smith. Tyson Church, Nathan Planger, Elijah Fleck, Chase Stronge, Garrett Janzen, and Cohen Zasadny all had an assist in the game. Cashton Carriere got the start for the Suns and made 22 saves on 25 shots.

Sunday saw the Suns travel to Cochrane to face off against the Bow Valley Timberwolves.

Next action for the Suns comes on Feb. 5 when the team welcomes in the Lethbridge Hurricanes for a 5:30 p.m. puck drop. They then hit the road the following day to take on the Okotoks Oilers.

The 18 Suns were off this past weekend and will be returning to the ice for a pair of home games on Feb. 4 against Okotoks and Feb. 5 against CNHA Gold.
