Busy CAHL weekend for Taber Oil Kings

Taber Oil Kings teams wrapped up their January Central Alberta Hockey League schedule this weekend as all teams were back on the ice.

U11 Tier 3

Two games were on tap for the U11 Tier 3 Oil Kings as they hit the road for both.

Saturday saw the team matchup against Coaldale which resulted in an 11-6 win for the Cobras. Hayden Eldridge couldn’t be stopped as he potted four goals for the Oil Kings while Ryder Nielsen and Cole Swanson had the other Oil King markers. Jack Burt chipped in with an assist. Brodyn Sutka made 30 stops on 41 shots for Taber.

On Sunday morning, the team went north to face-off against the Vauxhall Sabres. In a return to form, the Oil Kings would skate to a 10-5 win. Eldridge continued to score goals at a torrid pace as he found the back of the net four times once again. Swanson had a hat trick and an assist, Nielsen had a goal and an assist, Burt had a pair of assists, Kash Kover and Dalan Blasetti had a goal each, and Charley Fletcher netted an assist. Sutka was back in net and made 15 saves on 20 shots.

The U11 Tier 3 Oil Kings return to the ice this coming Saturday when they hit the road to Raymond for a 12:30 p.m. puck drop.
