Bantam Suns shine

Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns (6-17-5) earned three points in the South Central Alberta Hockey league standings with a solid weekend, going 1-0-1 overall.

The team’s victory was a 4-3 victory over Foothills Bisons (5-19-4) on the road on Saturday, making a furious comeback with four unanswered goals.
Riley Preachuk scored the natural hat trick in the third period, with Chance Locke starting the comeback with a second-period goal.

Kahil Wright earned the win in net, facing 18 shots on goal.

The team then skated to a 3-3 draw against Lethbridge Hurricanes (11-12-7) on the road on Sunday.

Preachuk, Matteo Blasetti and Rhett Klemen scored for the Suns.

Keegan Stenger was in goal for the tie, facing 29 shots on goal.

Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns are on the road on Saturday against Red Deer Steel Kings.

The team is playing at the Vauxhall Arena on Sunday against Cranbrook Hornets at 12:15 p.m.

MIDGET: Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns (11-13-1) were doubled up 4-2 by Wheatland Chiefs (14-7-3) on the road on Saturday in South Central Alberta Hockey League competition.

Jayden Kostiuk and Carter DeBoers scored for the Golden Suns. Tristan Miller drew two assists.

Blake Vaselenak took the loss in net, facing 34 shots on goal.

Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns are on the road on Saturday in a game against Okotoks Oilers.

PEEWEE: Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns return to SCAHL play with road games against Okotoks Oilers Green and Medicine Hat black on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
