Taber atom “A” Oil Kings split its pair of minor hockey games over the weekend.

The first was a 7-4 loss to Claresholm at the Taber Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Nixen Miller and Nate Kramer each had a goal and an assist for the Oil Kings. Also scoring were Heston Hansen and Delphin DeBoer.

The team rebounded with an 11-2 victory over Foothills on the road on Sunday morning at the Blackie Community Arena.

Nixen Miller and Ethan Volk each had two goals and an assist. Dane DeGraw and Lincoln Wiebe each had two goals apiece.

Cruz Duell, Hansen and Madix Miller had singles.

Ashton Jensen earned the win in net, facing 16 shots on goal.

ATOM B: Taber atom “B” Oil Kings battled valiantly against a team in a higher tier, in a 9-7 loss to Vulcan Hawks at the Taber Arena on Sunday.

Scoring was spread out for the Oil Kings with James Ruggles, Nathan Gensorek, Jaxson Badura, Julian Woordman, Skylar Jensen, Burke Hyland and Jackson Jones netting singles. Jensen also had three assists with Ruggles, Woordman and Jenner Workman each having two helpers apiece.

PEEWEE: Taber peewee Oil Kings edged Okotoks 6-5 on Saturday.

Chase Stronge had five goals and Wyler Langhofer-Krahn had a goal and an assist.
