Suns programs pile up wins

Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns (13-5-1) battled to a 3-3 draw with Wheatland Braves (10-6-3) in South Central Alberta Hockey League action at the Taber Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Kade Duell, Connor Chapman and Colby Gulliver scored for the Suns.

Brylin Noble faced 19 shots on net in the tie.

Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns play next in the New Year with a game against Chestermere Lakers at the Taber Arena on Jan. 5. The team then travels Jan. 6 for a game against Foothills Bisons.

BANTAM: Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns (6-11-2) earned a 5-2 win over Okotoks Oilers (7-6-5) at the Taber Arena on Saturday evening.

Nathan Verloop had a huge game with four goals and an assist. Rylan Millo notched a single. Kade Degenstein had two assists.

Landon Porteous earned the win in net, facing 28 shots on goal.

Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns host Wheatland Warriors on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. at the Taber Arena. The team then travels on Sunday to take on Medicine Hat Hounds.

MIDGET: Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns (10-8-3) earned three points in the standings with a solid weekend of SCAHL play.

The tam skated to a 3-3 tie with Lethbridge Hurricane Hounds (13-8-2) on the road on Friday.

Ryden Rempel, Kolby James and Max Nevil each had singles.

Gage Reimer helped preserve the tie, facing 34 shots on goal.

The team continued on to dismantle Foothills Bisons (0-19-0) 13-2 at the Taber Arena on Sunday afternoon.

D.J. Tonin and Cody Stange each had hat tricks to power the win. Jayden Kostiuk had two goals and Hayden Mack, Nevil, Tyran Kiss, and J.D. Hall had singles.

Ethan Barrows earned the win in net, facing 22 shots on goals.

Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns host Bow Valley Timberwolves on Saturday at 3 p.m.
