Minor hockey season ends on high note

Last Monday night put an official wrap on the 2016/2017 Taber Minor Hockey season as players, coaches, officials and managers honoured with various awards for their play and leadership.

The following is the complete list of honourees recognized at the awards banquet on March 3 at the Taber Community Centre Auditorium:

Atom A MVP (Lewis Tudor Memorial) – Connor Chapman / Kahil Wright

Atom B Team Player – Kayden Kress

Peewee MVP – Brinley Degenstein

Player’s Player (Jean Bowman Memorial) – Connor Eldridge

Best Defenseman – Kole Reynolds

Bantam MVP (Butch O’Donnell Memorial) – Max Nevil

Best Defenseman – Josh Verloop

Midget MVP (Freda’s Mobile Court) – Clay Leismiester

Most Improved (Cliff Passey Memorial) – Darian DeBona

Most Sportsmanlike (Les & Molly Marriott Memorial) – Mitch Young

Best Defenseman (Perry Brandics Memorial) – Gavin Hoskins

Bruce Wills Memorial (Scholastic Achievement & Hockey Proficiency) – Ryan McDonald

Goalie (Derrald Smith Memorial) – Trey Ross

Overall Player (Tessa Sparks Memorial) – Dylan Jones
