Midget ‘A’ Oil Kings drop two games

Taber midget ‘A’ Oil Kings suffered two losses on the ice this past weekend, starting off with an 8-5 defeat at the hands of Pincher Creek on Friday.

Dawson Hendricks tallied twice in the loss with Dallas Bodnar, Logan Wiebe, and Matthew Kerkhoff notching singles. Drawing assists were Clay Leismeister with two and Walker Ross, Kadin Reynolds and Wiebe with singles.

The Oil Kings were then edged by Hanna 7-6 on Saturday.

Wiebe had the hat trick and Hendricks, Mitch Young and Ryan Mankow had singles. Reynolds drew two assists and Braxton Kinniburgh, Dylan Jones, Ryan McDonald, Leismeister, Kerkhoff and Mankow had single helpers.

INITIATION: Taber initiation #3 Oil Kings earned a 14-7 win over Picture Butte Blades on Oct. 15.

Dane Degraw, Ethan Volk, Emmett Ruggles, and Nate Kramer each had hat tricks. Griffin Olfert had two tallies.

This past weekend, initiation #3 Oil Kings played initiation #2 Oil Kings and earned a 14-13 win. Kramer and Volk had hat tricks with Degraw, Ruggles, Griffin Olfert and Kellon Schalk each having two goals apiece.

Replying for initiation #2 were Lincoln Wiebe, Jackson Jones, Mikaelah Clingman and Jenner Workman with hat tricks. Julian Woordman had a single.

ATOM: Taber atom ‘B’ Oil Kings skated to a 9-9 draw on Saturday.

Tage Jensen and Kayden Kress each had a hat trick and an assist. Jaxson Coutts recorded two goals and two assists. Zachary Fehr had a goal and an assist. Shaylee DeBona faced 32 shots on net to preserve the tie.
