Home field advantage doesn’t apply when the W.R. Myers Baseball team is on the road.
In their recent road game again Oyen, the Myers Rebels baseball team handily won against their host in a 22-8 victory.
“We had a little bit of a slow start, we had some trouble throwing strikes, but Cole Jenson came in, and kind of shut their offence down,” said Ryan Hutchison, head coach of the W.R. Myers Rebels baseball team. “Then our bats kind of broke through and scored a bunch of runs, and we ended up having a big fifth inning – I think we scored 12 runs – and that was enough to head-run them.”
“Every game we’re getting a bit better; we’re starting to hit the ball way better and our pitching is starting to come around, which is good to see.”
The Rebels travel to Milk River on Tuesday, May 10, before hosting Medicine Hat for a home game on Tuesday, May 17.
“The way we’re playing right now, I think if we come out and have a good start, we should be able to beat them, but you never know,” said Hutchison.
