The LCI Clippers proved difficult once again to the W.R. Myers Rebels varsity girls basketball team, as the squad fell 65-58 on the road on Saturday.
Tied 24-24 at half-time, and trailing by only two points after the third quarter, the Clippers eventually pulled away.
“These are the games we want. Great competition where we need to play well to be in the game. Although it was a loss, it was a very intense game and games like this help us become a better team and will prepare us for zones and hopefully provincials,” said Kenney Wood, head coach of the W.R. Myers Rebels varsity girls basketball team.
“We had a number of chances to win this game, but we did not shoot our foul shots very well, and when that happens, it is very difficult to win close games.”
Millay Johnson had 17 points and Paige Wood added 12.
