Midget Golden Suns drop two

Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns go into the Christmas break on a low note, dropping both of its SCAHL games over the weekend at home.

The Suns fell 4-2 to the Olds Grizzlys at the Taber Arena on Friday night.

Jedd Horvath had a goal and an assist in the game. Justin Tams also scored with Dylan Heppler and Brandon Langridge recording assists. Dylan Swanson faced 33 shots on net in the loss.
Saturday’s play saw the Suns drop a 5-3 decision to Okotoks Oilers.

Heppler, Langridge and Horvath tallied for the Golden Suns. Austyn Moser drew two assists with Langridge, Heppler and Ace Wenbourne drawing single assists. Dylan Swanson faced 52 shots on net.

Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns return to SCAHL play on the road with a Jan. 3 game against Airdrie Lightning and a Jan. 4 game against CRAA Gold.

BANTAM: Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns were shutout 3-0 by the Foothills Bisons on Saturday on the road.

Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns return to SCAHL play on Jan. 2 with a home game against Red Deer Steel Kings at the Taber Arena at 8:30 p.m. The team then hits the road on Jan. 4 against Southwest Rockies.

PEEWEE: Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns took two of three South Central Alberta Hockey League games on the weekend.

The first was a 4-1 win over Lethbridge Hurricanes Red on the road on Friday.

Cash Regan, Kolby James, Kalem Haney, and Nolan Price scored for the peewee Suns. Haney and Price also recorded assists along with Tyran Kiss. Brayden Peters faced 24 shots to earn the win in net.

The team continued its weekend on Saturday with a 4-2 loss to Cranbrook Eagles on the road on Saturday.

Price and Regan scored with assists from James and Haney. Peters faced 33 shots in the loss.
Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns finished its SCAHL weekend strong with a 7-1 win over Badlands Longhorns on Sunday at the Taber Arena.

Price, Derek Tonin and Derrien Tonin all had two goals apiece. James notched a single. Gerret Harty, Blake Kondor, and Quade Hughson each had two assists apiece.

Derek Tonin, Colby Garner, James, Carson Cleland, Spencer Mehlen, and Tyran Kiss all had single assists.

Taber peewee “AA” Golden Suns return to SCAHL play on Jan. 3 with a road game against Bow Valley Timberwolves and then return home on Jan. 4 with a game against Badlands Longhorns at the Taber Arena at 1 p.m.
