W.R. Myers Rebels varsity girls volleyball team were able to get some revenge against the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clippers early last week.
The team was able to turn the tables of a semifinal loss to the Clippers at a tournament at Lethbridge College previously into a dominating four-set win in league play last Tuesday against the same team.
“It went really well. The girls really wanted it, they felt like they didn’t play their best in the tournament, so we wanted a chance to show how we could really play,” said Sam Bennett, head coach of the W.R. Myers Rebels varsity girls volleyball team.
“For the most part we did good in two aspects of the game. Our best aspect was blocking at the net and our next was our hitting.”
Kills were spread all over the floor for the Rebels with Megan Fallon recording 11 kills, Mackenzie Lewicki had nine kills and Genna Wright had nine kills also.
“We attacked the ball really well,” said Bennett.
The Rebels hosted the Winston Churchill Griffins on Tuesday with results unavailable at press time and then host Picture Butte Queens this Thursday. Junior varsity is at 6 p.m. with varsity to follow.
