The unofficial results are in, and Dan Remfert has emerged victorious as the new councillor-elect for the Town of Taber in the Sept. 7 by-election.
Remfert captured the position with 241 votes, trailed closely by Dale Tilleman with 179. Naomi Wiebe would take in 121, followed by Cat Champagne with 95, Mani Parhar with 86, Mike Krchnak with 79, and Ian Croft with 13.
The official results will be released by the Returning Officer at 12 p.m. on the fourth day after Election Day, in accordance with the Local Authorities Election Act. The swearing-in of the Councillor-Elect will occur on September 11 at 3:30 p.m.
In total, 817 people voted in the by-election.
