Instead of eating in for lunch or supper next weekend, you may want to head down to Confederation Park and enjoy some of the offerings that several different food trucks will be providing.

“The original date was July 16, but turns out that is Barnwell Days and we didn’t want to compete with Barnwell Days or draw anybody away from Barnwell Days, so we moved to the week after,” said Emily Hembrough, Art, Culture and Events Coordinator. “It is now July 23 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Currently, we have six trucks really hoping to get more. Last year, we had one and it was really well attended and we’re hoping to keep on with the tradition. I love food so any event with food I love, so yeah. Just keeping on with tradition and continuing to add events to the town.”

Hembrough went into more detail about the trucks that are currently participating in this event.

“All but one are local — which is really cool. We have one that is coming, the rest of them are local and we see them around in or around other events, or farmers markets, or things like that, but we’re hoping to get a few more.”

Hembrough said there may be a few other events going on as well.

“Pretty much just food trucks selling food — we may have summer programs out there. Finally, our summer programs are getting booked up for the camps, but if we still have some openings, we might send the girls out, and play games with kids to promote the programs. Right now just food in the park.”
