Stu Gemmill has taken over the sergeant role for the Taber/Vauxhall RCMP detachment.

“I am from Lethbridge and grew up in southern Alberta along with having a lot of family in Taber,” said Gemmill. “I have 16 years of service in the RCMP and my first posting was in northern Manitoba where I did two postings. In 2012, I was transferred to Innisfail, Alberta then Chateh, Milk River, and Coaldale until I got the job here.”

For Gemmill, Taber was the obvious next step to take his career.

“My wife and I are both from Lethbridge and being close to family was a big part of wanting to be back close to home. That way we can raise our kids close to their grandparents and family. I love the area and I’m very happy to be back.”
