It’s full-steam ahead for the Taber Charity Auction crew as April 2 is fast approaching. The event hasn’t been able to run for the past two years due to COVID-19, but Jared Bell is looking forwards to a good turnout.

“The Charity Auction is a one-day event that happens the first Saturday of April typically,” said Bell. “Obviously, the last two years we haven’t been able to do it. We try and raise money for various service groups around town with the three biggest recipients of funding being STARS Air Ambulance, HALO Air Ambulance, and the Central School Breakfast Program. Every year we take the money we end up raising from the auction and allocate it around based on what we feel the need is. We target raising $100,000 for the community, the event and the organizations in the community.”

While those three programs are the main ones they support, it doesn’t mean they’re the only ones. Other organizations the Taber Charity Auction has supported in the past are the Alberta Transplant Institute, the Town of Taber and M.D. of Taber Fire Departments, the Taber Food Bank, and the Public Access Defibrillation Program.
