All three ‘AA’ Taber Golden Sun teams were on home ice this past Saturday and the organization was celebrating Green Shirt Day. As part of the celebration, there was a Green Shirt Day booth set up in the Taber Arena lobby and Logan Boulet’s parents, Toby and Bernie, were on hand to discuss organ donation and events coming this year.
April 7 has been declared Green Shirt Day and was created to honour, remember, and recognize all the victims and families of the fatal Humboldt Broncos bus crash and to continue Logan Boulet’s legacy by inspiring Canadians to talk to their families and register as organ donors. With Logan spending several seasons in the ‘AA’ system, it was an easy decision to host an event before the Suns’ wrapped up the regular season.
Before the U15 game, a short presentation was held where Kevin Serfas, president of the Golden Suns, Taber Mayor Andrew Prokop, and Toby and Bernie Boulet made statements.
