Orban raising funds for Taber Golf and Clearview Lodge

Joe Orban has hit the fundraising trail with 19-month calendars with funds split between the Taber Golf Club and Clearview Lodge.

“They (Taber Golf Club) discovered they had a bunch of calendars left and when somebody needs something sold, they call me,” said Orban, with a chuckle. “When they told me about the calendars, they said ‘we’ll give you a commission,’ I said ‘I don’t want a commission so I said ‘what about if we give the commission to Clearview Lodge?’ and they said that was fine.”

The calendars are $20 each, with $10 going to each organization. Orban estimated he had quite a few calendars left, a couple hundred at least. Despite the vast amount of calendars left in stock, Orban’s goal is just to raise as much money as possible for the two organizations.

“Even if I could sell 50 of them, that’s all money. Lately, what’s been happening is people don’t want a calendar but they’ll give me $10 or something. And that’s good too,” he said.

Orban was also OK with sharing his tried and true selling method.

“My secret formula for selling things is asking people,” said Orban, with a laugh.
