Taber RCMP have confirmed that two Coaldale residents died as a result of a serious motor vehicle collision on Dec. 5 on Highway 3, at approximately 6:35 p.m., approximately 15 kilometres east of Taber.

A 33-year-old male, along with a five-year-old boy, both of Coaldale, were pronounced deceased at the scene. A three-year-old child travelling in the same vehicle, was airlifted to Calgary hospital via STARS with non-life-threatening injuries and is recovering.

Two other female subjects were also transported to hospital and the extent of their injuries were unknown at the time.

Road and weather conditions were not a factor. Alcohol was not a factor as well. RCMP continue their investigation into the motor vehicle collision, and charges are pending. Names of the persons involved were not released as of late Monday.
