Posted on April 30, 2014 by Taber Times

A woman facing a second-degree murder charge in Taber will be back in court May 20 for fixation of a date for a preliminary inquiry.

Trina Michelle Thomas appeared before Judge J.N. LeGrandeur in Taber provincial court on April 22, via CCTV from the Lethbridge Correctional Centre.

Thomas had been charged after a mid-March incident in Taber’s downtown core which left Howard Sakebow, 47, dead inside his apartment.

According to police, Sakebow suffered fatal chest wounds after Thomas allegedly seized a kitchen knife in each hand and swung at the victim.

During her brief court appearance, Thomas was represented by counsel for the defence Greg White. The 28-year-old will remain in custody until her next appearance on May 20.
