Dear Editor:

I would like to address the reeve, M.D. councillors and director of Ag Services. Especially in these times of severely eroded tax bases (gas and oil), I’m quite concerned over your machinery purchases. I don’t think I need (to) remind the M.D. people in charge, it’s not your money. It belongs to the taxpayers.

How come most farmers run tractors up to 10,000 hours — but the M.D., with an over-the-top new shop with good mechanical (employees), can only do 4,000 hours? I also object to expensive extended warranties — which is simply paying for repairs, before they exist instead or after the fix.
