Those of us from the world of finance, who had ties to the oil industry, believe what the U of C economist Trevor Tombe is saying. Had the previous governments continued to collect oil royalties at the Lougheed levels we would have had an additional $575 billion to run this province properly, like Norway and Alaska are doing.
Instead these phony conservatives are looking after their rich friends and gave it all away. Add in the $150 billion in lost tax revenues that Ralph Klein’s daughter Angie was so upset about and the Orphan Well mess that I was involved with prior to Klein changing the regulations to benefit his rich friends, and they have literally destroyed our children’s future.
Now this Liberal, turned Reformer, has never been a true conservative, in Jason Kenney tries to blame the doctors, nurses, teachers, Ottawa and fake corporations for creating the mess we are in. How stupid does he think we are? We know our Conservative hero Peter Lougheed would never have allowed this to happen.
Over the years I have done a lot of pheasant hunting in the Taber area and learned to love and respect the people in your area. I think you have one of the greatest newspapers in Alberta and enjoy reading it. Telling it like it is, is great, and what we need.
