I recently had the misfortune of having to be hospitalized for a period of time in the Taber Hospital.
Not having had this experience for over 20 years, my expectations of the quality of care that I would receive were somewhat jaded due to reports of the strenuous demands put on the staff within Alberta Hospitals. However, I was gravely mistaken.
Firstly, I want to thank the admitting doctor and nurses who first responded and thank them for their proficient assessment and caring attitude. Although my stay in the hospital was only for five days, I especially want to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the Taber Hospital.
The nurses, in particular, consistently demonstrated not only professional and efficient care, but as far as I was concerned exceeded their responsibilities often during very challenging and demanding times. They were my heroes.
They were all incredibly attentive and patient not only with myself but other patients in the wing.
How fortunate we are in Taber to have such a personal and tireless nursing staff.
I pay tribute and give thanks to these community of nurses who selflessly carry out their duties.
We are so lucky to have such a calibre of nurses attending us our small rural hospital.
Yours sincerely,
TERRY ZAUGG
