Abortion a human rights issue

Posted on July 26, 2017 by Taber Times

My wife Lena and I attended a C.C.B.R. Canadian centre for bio ethical reform, a pro-life gathering in Lethbridge.

A presentation to raise awareness about the injustice of abortion was made, a human rights issue. We heard some sad facts.

Canada’s first one hundred years of history, abortion was for the most part against the law.

Then in 1969, then justice minister Trudeau challenged the law of the day, and the courts considered the law unconstitutional, so now Canada is without a law, and abortion is legal at all stages of pregnancy.

A law shared only with North Korea, and China.

In these last 48 years, Canada lost four million citizens to gruesome abortion. In 2006, an abortion doctor (Dr. Morgentaler) was awarded “The order of Canada.”

At Canada’s 150 year celebration, of these four million people, the oldest would have been 48 years old, and could have had a one-year old grandchild. The governments of these last 48 years are silent and do not have enough guts to even raise the issue. The positive is, that more and more Canadians see it as a violation of the human rights code. So there is always hope for tomorrow.
