Director thanks cast and crew of Taber Players for job well done

Posted on April 12, 2017 by Taber Times

Last Saturday night, the Taber Players cast and crew had the privilege of staging Tim Kelly’s Two Fools Who Gained A Measure of Wisdom based on Anton Chekhov’s short story Nothing to Choose Between Them for southern Alberta audiences at the Sterndale Bennett Theatre. A full house was on hand to enjoy a varied offering of five distinctly different productions, four of which were original new scripts.

Kate Connolly and Rita Peterson of Lethbridge Playgoers and Alberta Drama Festival Association are to be commended for their efforts in selection of acts and organizing a very interesting and successful evening. Chinook region does not lack for new original talent.

And while Taber did not succeed in winning a bid to compete at the Provincials in Medicine Hat May 26 and 27, we did have the distinction of seeing our own Jocelyn Steinborn win the award as best actress for her incredible portrayal as the eccentric wealthy maid. Our production was also the only truly scripted production to deal with the intricacies of human family relationships.

To all of my cast and crew and our supporters, I must extend my sincerest thanks for all your hard work and dedication in bringing this production to the stage both here in Taber and in Lethbridge. I regret that we will not pass this way again, but wish to take this opportunity to wish you all every continued success in your future thespian endeavours!

Past President, Taber Players
