Thoughts on recent events in France, Syria

I am hearing a lot of fear and intolerance from good, loving people. There are also expressions of love and calls for compassion.

The war on terror will never succeed because war creates fear and sorrow which are the roots of hate and terror.

What we need to do, is to contribute to the love on humans. That is the only way to prevent a person- somebody’s sweet beloved child- from growing to hate. You can’t unmake a terrorist, but we can work to prevent terrorism.

Acts of love involve risk. Courage and compassion mean we must love anyway.

I applaud all those who reach out in love to help those who are hurt, who live with fear. I stand with you. I choose to love.
