Midget Suns split games

Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns (5-6-1) split its pair of South Central Alberta Hockey League games over the weekend.

Saturday night saw a big 8-3 victory over CRAA Gold (3-1-0) at the Taber Arena.

Nathan Verloop potted a hat trick while Rylan Millo tallied twice for the Golden Suns. Alonso Tapia Ruiz, Cody Stange and Carter DeBoer had singles. Kolby James had five assists and DeBoer had a trio of helpers.

Aidan Low earned the win in net, facing 31 shots on goal.

Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns followed up with a 4-3 loss to CRAA Blue (1-3-1) on the road on Sunday.

James tallied twice and Wyatt Broderson had a single. DeBoer had two assists.

Blake Vaselenak took the loss in net, facing 41 shots on goal.

Taber midget “AA” Golden Suns are on the road against CNHA Canucks on Saturday afternoon.

BANTAM: Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns (3-9-4) dropped a 5-2 decision to Red Deer Steel Kings (7-5-1) at the Taber Arena on Saturday evening.

Connor Chapman and Brady Magarrell tallied for the Suns.

Kahil Wright took the loss in net, facing 35 shots on goal.

Taber bantam “AA” Golden Suns return to SCAHL play on Nov. 30 with a game against West Central Tigers at the Taber Arena at 5:30 p.m. The Suns also host Wheatland Warriors the same weekend on Dec. 1 at 1 p.m.
