The Taber Gymnastics Fitness Club Competitive Girls competed at the Wildrose Gymnastics Competition 2026 Rodeo Queen XCEL Invitational in Edmonton, Alta. on the weekend of Feb. 14-15. This was the first time we attended this competition, and what a tough one it was! Not everyone attended, but those that did, represented our small-town Taber and we couldn’t be prouder of them!
Our bronze level girls all brought home ribbons from every apparatus (4th – 8th place) but some really stood out. Haven Anderson brought home 2nd on bars, 4th overall with a special award to add to her collection with “Most Impressive Bars”. Lilah Bevans brought home 1st on floor, 3rd on vault, 1st overall in her age category. It was Brittyn Johnson’s first competition of the year and she came home with 3rd on beam, which is a tough one, so way to go Brittyn. Hadley Heck came home with 6th all around and a special award. “Most Dynamic Vault”. What an achievement! Way to go bronze.
Our Silver team did well too. Georgia Nakamura, who will be moving up to level Gold soon enough, brought home 3rd on floor and 9th all around and with a special award “Best Leap on Beam”. Ella Erickson brought home 2nd on Vault, and 5th all around with special award “Most Dynamic Vault”. Gracie Kuryvial came home with 7th on vault and 10th all around. Miranda Brunn-Ross brought home 3rd on bars, 3rd on vault and 3rd all around. Everly Jensen brought home 2nd on beam, 1st on vault, 2nd all around and the “Most Impressive Bars” special award. Zaylee Silver brought home 3rd on bars, 1st on beam, 1st on vault and 1st all around, “Most Dynamic Vault” and “Best Artistry on Floor” special awards. A new record for one level bringing home the most special awards. Incredible job Silvers.
Our Gold/Platinum level brought home some hardware. These girls work so hard! The higher the level, the harder the judging and our senior girls did an incredible job competing against the bigger club teams. Madalynn Kuryvial brought home 3rd on bars, 1st on vault and 4th all around with the special award. “Most Dynamic Vault”. Seviya Anderson brought home 3rd on bars, 1st on beam, 2nd on floor and 3rd all around. Cora Brugger brought home 2nd on beam, 4th on bars and vault, 5th all around. Nikki Kielstra brought home 4th on beam and 4th on vault, 6th overall and Lauren Visser brought home 3rd on bars, 4th on beam, 2nd on vault, 2nd on floor and 2nd overall with another special award “Most Dynamic Vault”. This is the first time ever that every single level (bronze/silver/gold/platinum) of our competitive group, brought home the “Most Dynamic Vault” award for each level. What an accomplishment! We are so proud of how our competitive season is going. We still have six competitions left this season. Next competition is in Olds, Alta. the weekend of March 6-8. Stay tuned!
