It was another busy weekend for Central Alberta Hockey League (CAHL) action as all Taber Oil Kings teams were in action.

U11 Tier 3

For the U11 Tier 3 team, it was a one-game weekend that saw them head to Magrath on Saturday. It was back-and-forth between the two teams, but Taber was able to squeak out a 5-4 win. Seth Denny scored twice and added an assist, Dirk Devries and Vaughn Emelson hit the back of the net, and Lucas Bowman and Weston Valgardson had an assist each. Avi Rex was called on to start in net and posted a 21-save win.

Two more games come this weekend for the Oil Kings as they host Magrath for a rematch on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. Sunday has Brooks coming to town for a 10:30 a.m. puck drop.

U11 Tier 5

Only one game was on tap for the U11 Tier 5 Oil Kings as they hosted Redcliff White in Vauxhall on Saturday. In an exciting matchup, it was Redcliff who was able to pull away with a 6-5 win. Cooper Feldbusch scored a hat trick for Taber, while Levi Spengler had a goal and an assist, Mya Braun had a goal, and Luke Kramer notched an assist. Zayne Cody was in net for Taber and made 25 saves on 31 shots.

The U11 Tier 5 squad will wrap up December with a busy three-game weekend starting on Dec. 19. That evening, they hit the road to take on Duchess at 6:30 p.m. On Dec. 20, they’re back on the road as they face off against Brooks Red at 1 p.m. It finishes with a home game on Sunday when Bow Island comes to Taber for a 10:30 a.m. puck drop.

U13

Only one road game was on tap for the U13 Oil Kings as they were in Raymond on Saturday. Thanks to a four-goal third period, Taber was able to leave town with an 8-7 victory. The U13 Oil Kings prepare for a one-game weekend as they welcome Cardston on Saturday. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. at the Taber Arena.

U15

There were no CAHL games for the U15 Oil Kings as they hit the ice this coming weekend for one game. On Saturday, they host Foothills Blue at 5:30 p.m.

U18

Three games came and went for the U18 Oil Kings this past weekend. On Friday night, they hosted Magrath and were unable to tame the Chiefs as they fell 7-2.
