September is fast approaching, and that means players will be heading back to the ice rink in short order. Taber Minor Hockey (TMH) opened registration earlier this summer for the upcoming season, but they are still accepting applications. The Oil Kings will once again be competing in the Central Alberta Hockey League (CAHL) in the 25-26 season.

Registration is already open, and families have three different ways to pay fees this year. Option one is available via the online registration platform via credit card. Option two is sending an e-transfer to treasurer@taberminorhockey.com with the password hockey. You are also asked to put the player’s name in the note section of the e-transfer. The final option is to pay by cash or cheque. If this is your desired option, contact treasurer@taberminorhockey.com. If you have a registration refund left with TMH from last year, it will be applied at checkout.

Fees for the following year are:

U5 (Pre-initiation) – $160

U7- $330

U9- $390

U11- $680

U13- $680

U15- $715

U18- $735

Goalies see a reduced fee for U13-U18 with fees set at $350. If your child is a goalie, TMH asks you to contact the registrar at registrar@taberminorhockey.com before registering to get a goalie discount applied. Power skating is also back and running this season. You have the option to include this when you check out via the online registration platform. Power skating is separated into two groups — U7 and younger and U9 and older. The first session will be before Christmas, and the second session will take place in 2026.

For the 2025-26 season, CAHL begins tiering for U11-U18 on Oct. 17 and runs until Nov. 9. Regular seasons then begin on Nov. 21 and run until mid-February. Playoffs then begin and run until March 22 at the latest. The tiering break is Nov.14-16, and Christmas break runs from Dec. 22 to Jan. 1. The U9 and U11s have two weekends off during the season — Nov. 14-16 and Feb. 13-15.

Provincal tournaments begin in March. U13 and U15 Provincials run from March 19-22 while the U18 tournament runs from march 26-29.
