Taber Times
With the lacrosse season in full swing, Taber lacrosse teams were busy the first weekend of May.
U11
The U11 Thrashers continued their Southern Alberta Lacrosse League (SALA) season with a pair of games this past weekend. The team travelled to Brooks as they took on Brooks Drillers White and Orange. In their first game of the weekend, the Thrashers were unable to contain Brooks as the home team walked away with a 10-2 win. Dreyton Kinniburgh and Damien Ellis were the Taber goal scorers.
In their second game of the day, the Thrashers matched up against Drillers Orange and had a close game. A back-and-forth third period saw the Thrashers try to tie the game late, but they eventually fell 6-5. Ellis had four of the Taber goals while Kinniburgh had the other. Annika Hall added an assist.
Another two games come this Saturday for the U11 Thrashers as they head to Medicine Hat to play the Medicine Hat Sundevils Yellow and Black teams.
U13
The U13 squad also had a pair of games as they were in Brooks for games against Lethbridge and Brooks. First game was a nail-biter against Lethbridge as the Cudas mounted a late-game comeback, but the Thrashers were able to fend them off long enough to collect a 6-5 victory. Jayce Ellis scored three and added an assist in the win. Acacia Bear, Kade Lebeuf, and Lincoln Braun all scored once, and Nash Valgardson had an assist.
In the final game of the weekend, the Thrashers were unable to overcome the Brooks Drillers as they fell 7-2. Ellis had both Taber’s goals, and Lebeuf had an assist.
The U13s don’t return to SALA action until May 25, when they head to Medicine Hat.
Southern Alberta Chaos

In a pair of road games, the Chaos took on the Sylvan Lake Yetti on Saturday evening. While both teams were able to hit the back of the net plenty of times, the Chaos scored six in the third period en route to a 14-9 win. Hunter Skrove and Dash Robichaud had two assists each, Parker Forrest, Carter Kerkhoff, and Colton Litke scored once, and Jett Matisho, Ty Hanson, and Cameron Greenley all added an assist.
After making it a 2-0 start to the season, the Chaos were back on the court Sunday as they took on the Crude Lacrosse Club. A big seven-goal second period for the Chaos helped the team cruise to a 12-6 victory as they started their season 3-0. Dyck led the way with two goals and five assists, while Sheen scored four more and added two assists. Devon Robichaud had two goals and two assists, Cameron Greenley had three assists, and Carter Foote scored once and had an assist. Skrove, Litke, and Brady Weasel Fat hit the back of the net once, and Dash Robichaud, Hanson, and Kerkhoff had an assist each.
