The Southland Football League held its year-end MVP and Most Outstanding Player awards ceremony on Nov. 7 at Chinook High School.
W.R. Myers’ John Van Uden took home the Lions Cup Division MVP.
Van Uden rushed for 1,235 yards and 10 touchdowns in 10 regular season games.
“He possesses a drive and work ethic rarely seen in a player his age,” said Jason Jensen, W.R. Myers head coach.
“He’s the type of player who can put the team on his back when needed, and to me, that is the truest mark of an MVP.”
Van Uden won MOP for running backs, too.
Most Outstanding Player honours in this division went to Myers’ Carson Becker (defensive backs), Willow Creek’s Logan Hurlburt (Linebackers), Myers’ Nik Binnie (defensive linemen), Cardston’s Jarom Hubbard (punter), Cardston’s Kash Holland (quarterback), Willow Creek’s Zak Wright (receivers and kicker) and Myers’ Jess Nielsen (offensive linemen).
