After a week off, the Southern Alberta Chaos were back for lacrosse game action this past weekend as they saw their first home game of the regular season.

On Saturday afternoon, they welcomed in the Calgary Bandits as the teams went to battle at the Taber Ice Arena. Despite the week off, the Chaos’ offence saw no sleepy start as they came out firing from start to finish as they cruised to a 21-7 victory. Austin Sheen and Connor Materi led the way with five goals and seven assists and four goals and six assists, respectively. Overall, the team saw plenty of contributions throughout the lineup as Hunter Skrove had a hat trick and one assist, Jett Matisho had two goals and two assists, Parker Forrest had four assists, Ty Hynes, Ryder Douglas, and Hael Maxwell-Lyster each had two goals, and Kayden Kress and Luke Sheridan had one assist each.

Looking to make it a two-win weekend, Sunday saw the Chaos back out on the road as they took on the Calgary Axemen. Once again, the Chaos’ offence was able to take over the game and lead them to victory — this time 16-8. Sheen had another great game for the Chaos as he contributed with six goals and four assists. Hanson had four goals and one assist, Skrove had a hat trick and two assists, Grant Petronech had a goal and three assists, Maxwell-Lyster had a goal and two assists, Forrest had three assists, Sheridan had a goal and an assist, and Matisho had two assists.

Next up for the Chaos is a one-game weekend as they return home on June 2 for a 2:30 p.m. game against the Mountain View Stingers (0-6). The Chaos currently sit in third place with a 3-2 record behind the first-place Calgary Bandits (5-2) and second-place RockyviewRage (4-3).
