For Taber Times
It’s playoff time for teams in the Central Alberta Hockey League.
Taber teams will be right in the thick of things, as Oil Kings teams in various divisions will hit the ice to determine league champions.
In U11, Taber finished 5-10-1 in the Tier 2 Blue Division, good for 11 points. Lincoln Braun led the team in scoring with 43 points on 33 goals and 10 assists.
Taber’s U13 team went 1-15, as the squad was led by Logan Rabusic, who had 13 goals and seven assists, good for 20 points.
It was a perfect regular season for Taber’s U15 team, as the Oil Kings went 16-0 in the Tier 3 Yellow Division, with an astounding 126 goals for. Taber surrendered 39 goals, enroute to a first-place finish with 32 points in the standings.
Lincoln Wiebe paced the team’s offensive attack with 69 points, as he recorded 45 goals and 24 assists throughout the campaign.
The goaltending duo of Brodyn Sutka (8-0) and Jack Lukacs (7-0) backstopped the team.
Taber’s U15 team will now play Lethbridge – Red in the league quarterfinals.
Taber’s U18 wrapped up the regular season with two weekend games, which started with a Friday tilt against Bow Island/Foremost.
The Oil Kings dropped the game by a score of 9-6, as Mason Van Seters led the way with a goal and two assists. Kellen Lauwen and Kayden Kress both turned in two-goal efforts, while Carter Jensen had a goal and an assist. Konner Wiebe, Ryan Gray and Evan Untereiner added one assist each.

On Saturday, Taber fell 6-2 to Brooks. Lauwen and Aiden Farewell had the Taber goals, as Jensen, Ayden Umbach and Kylan Odland had assists.
Dorin was in goal for the Oil Kings, as he made 35 saves in the contest.
After the 16-game regular season, Taber finished with a 4-11-1 record. Kayden Kress led the team with 37 points, on 25 goals and 12 assists.
Taber will take on PIncher Creek in the first round of the playoffs.
