It was the final weekend of Central Alberta Hockey League play for the Taber Oil Kings this past weekend as the teams looked to put a few wins on the board before the break.
U15
Two games remained in 2022 for the U15 Oil Kings as they had a pair of home games to wrap up this portion of the CAHL calendar.
First up was a matchup against Bow Island/Foremost on Friday night. The Oil Kings saw their offence go off in the game as they cruised to a 12-7 win. Konnor Wiebe couldn’t be stopped as he had seven goals and three assists, Lincoln Wiebe had a hat trick and two assists, Jasper Sidam had two goals and an assist, Tate Nakashima had three assists, TJ O’Grady had a pair of assists, and Ethan Volk and Blaise Odland chipped in with an assist each. Ty Dorin made 33 stops on 40 shots in the Taber net.
Saturday saw Lethbridge come to town and unfortunately for the Oil Kings, they were unable to withstand the Lethbridge attack as the visiting team skated to a 9-1 win. Volk had the lone Taber goal while Sidam and Carter Kerkhoff had the assists. Dorin got the start in net and made 53 saves on 62 shots.
Next CAHL action for the U15 Blades comes on Jan. 15.
