The Taber Golden Suns were back on the ice this past weekend as the South Central Alberta Hockey League rolled into December.
U13
The U13 Suns had a single game on the schedule as the Medicine Hat Hounds came to Taber on Sunday afternoon. The Hounds would score 10 straight in the game before Delphin De Boer would find the back of the net as Canaan Fleck had the assist. The Hounds would score one more before the end of the game and collect an 11-1 win. Ashton Jensen made 41 saves on 49 shots while Jack Lukacs made 17 saves on 20 shots.
The U13 Suns return to the ice this coming weekend for a pair of games as they head to Medicine Hat for a rematch against the Hounds on Friday at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the team is back on the road to take on the Okotoks Oilers for a 4 p.m. puck drop.
U15
It was a single game to kick off December for the U15 Suns as they welcomed in the Okotoks Oilers on Dec. 3. Okotoks would score the lone goal in the first, but Taber would see Mason Noble score on a penalty shot in the second to tie the game. The game would head into the third tied 1-1, but unfortunately for the Suns, the Oilers would score two goals in the third en route to a 3-1 win. Avery Remfert made the start for Taber and the netminder made 42 saves on 45 shots.
Next up for the U15 Suns is a three-game homestand this coming weekend. On Friday night at 8:15 p.m., Medicine Hat SEAC Tigers are in town, Saturday sees the Wheatland Warriors in Taber for a 5:30 p.m. game, and then on Sunday, the Bow Valley Timberwolves take on the Suns at 3:30 p.m.
