The Central Alberta Hockey League is now past November and Taber Oil King teams were on the ice this past weekend for their final games of the month.
U18
It was a big weekend for the U18 Oil Kings as they racked up a pair of wins. On Friday night, Fort Macleod came to town for the first game of the weekend. Thanks to a two-goal third period, the Oil Kings were able to secure a 3-2 win. Kellen Lauwen had two goals while Brant Allen had the other goal. Evan Rabusic and Evan Friesen had an assist each in the game. Mason Van Seters was the starting goalie for Taber and the netminder was stellar making 43 saves on 45 shots.
Lethbridge White came to Taber on Saturday and the Oil Kings were able to find tons of goals as they skated to an 8-2 win. Lauwen had a hat trick and an assist, Allen had two goals and two assists, Matteo Blasetti had a pair of goals, Rabusic had a goal and an assist, Friesen and Reid Lerner had two assists each, and Ryan Gray, Tanner Fletcher, and Samuel Klaas had an assist each. Van Seters made another start and the goalie made 23 saves on 25 shots.
The U18 Oil Kings are back on the ice on Dec. 9 in Lethbridge at 7:15 p.m. against Lethbridge Red.
