The Taber Golden Suns are back in full force with October well underway. This past weekend saw all three teams back on the ice as the South Central Alberta Hockey League season is in full gear.

U15

A single game was on the calendar for the U15 Suns this past weekend as they welcomed in the Central Alberta Selects. In the first period, the Selects would pot the first two goals of the game before Tait Vermeersch would find the back of the net for Taber as Nathan Rijkens would have the assist. The period would end with a 2-1 lead in favour of the Selects.

The second period saw little scoring as the Selects would pot a power play goal late in the second and take a 3-1 lead into the final frame. Unfortunately for the Suns, the third period would see the Selects score a pair of shorthanded goals, and that would be all they would need as they cruised to a 5-1 victory. Avery Remfert was the Suns’ starting goalie and he made 26 saves on 31 shots in the game.

This coming weekend sees another game on tap for the U15 Suns as they head to Okotoks for an 8 p.m. game on Saturday.
