This past weekend saw plenty of adversity for the Taber U16 Wham team as illness hit the team before they hit the court.
On Saturday, the team travelled to Calgary for another tournament, but unfortunately for two of the Wham players, they were unable to suit up.
“Our team got hit with sickness and we were down two of our three setters for the weekend. This meant we were left with only one setter and had to move a player to a new position on the right side. Not sure how the team will handle the set back I was a bit worried about how our weekend may go,” explained coach Carolyn Siemens.
With the team down two players, the coaching staff was unsure of how the team would handle that. Despite a sluggish start in the first game of the tournament against a familiar foe, the girls were able to battle through with a shortened squad.
