Oil Kings royalty at tournament

Taber bantam Oil Kings took the tournament title at the Can-Am Bantam Challenge in Great Falls, Montana this past weekend.

It was a 5-2 victory over Foothills Flyers in the championship.

Ryan Mankow scored four goals in the championship final. Ryan Hubble scored a single. Kyle Turner had two assists with Hubble and Eric Loewen had single helpers.

Andrew Makarchuk earned the win in net. Loewen earned game MVP.

Oil Kings started its tournament run with a 2-1 win over the same Flyers.

Dallas Bodnar and Gage Wiebe scored for the Oil Kings. Hubble, Ryan Hewitt and Evan Harkness drew assists. Harkness was game MVP and Darian DeBona earned the win in net.

Oil Kings continued on to beat host Great Falls 6-1.

Hewitt had the hat trick and Darian Hardy, Harkness and Bodnar had singles. Wiebe and Rory Murphy had two assists apiece and Harkness and Mankow had single assists. Mankow was game MVP and Makarchuk earned the win in net.

Oil Kings made their way to the championship by beating Lethbridge 7-2.

Mankow had the hat trick and Harkness had two goals. Hubble and Brady Howg scored singles. Hardy had two assists and Turner, Spencer Phillips, Braxton Kinniburgh, Hewitt and Hubble had single assists. DeBona was game MVP and earned the win in net.
