The Suns started out a best of three playoff weekend on Friday night, taking an 8-1 loss to Medicine Hat Venom.
Returning to the Taber Arena on Sunday, it was all Medicine Hat early on, with the opposition team hammering the Suns’ net with a series of goals.
“We played last night, our second playoff game, we won in overtime there, and snuck out the win,” said head coach Duane Nevil. “Yesterday, I was a little more impressed. The start was a little shaky, but they showed up half way through the game. They fought back.”
The team has struggled to meet challenges throughout the season, including a series of troubling injuries to key players.
“We’ve had to battle with injuries pretty much the whole year. One of our goalies is out right now,” said Nevil.
The final of the best of three games was last night, with results unavailable at press time.
“It’s just coming down to hard work and who wants it more right now,” said Nevil.
