Novice game high scoring affair

Taber novice teams squared off against each other on Sunday at the Taber Arena where Taber Novice 1 Oil Kings beat Taber Novice 2 Oil Kings 13-11 in an offensive barrage.

Kade Duell had four goals to go with three assists in the game for the victors. Connor Eldrige and Heath Hansen also had four goals apiece. Xavier Hull notched a single. Hunter Damberger and Ainsley Duell each had assists.

Responding for Taber 2 Oil Kings was Ashton Lukacs with four goals and an assist. Matteo Blasetti had two goals and an assist. Kyler Marchuk also tallied twice. Devan Loewen, Matthew Gensorek, and Evan Rabusic had singles. Loewen also drew an assist.

INITIATION: Initiation 2 Oil Kings played Raymond on Saturday with Raymond taking the win 12-5. Roman Pavka had a hat trick. Sam Tolsma and Konnor Wiebe each scored singles.

ATOM: Taber atom ‘A’ Oil Kings dropped a 12-8 decision to Olds Grizzlys  at the Taber Arena on Saturday.

Carson Cleland, Nathan Verloop and Colby Garner each had two goals apiece. Rylan Millo and Jaxxon Pavka had singles. Pavka and Carson Haynes drew three assists apiece. Carter Deboer and Garner each had two helpers apiece. Jack Murphy and Verloop had single assists.

Atom ‘B’ Oil Kings had two games over the weekend, starting off with a 7-7 draw against Coaldale on the road on Saturday.

Carson Komery had three goals and two assists. Luke Bell scored his first goal of his hockey career along with Kole Reynolds, Logan Kromm and Brendan Appleton notching singles as well. Ty Fitch had three assists and Michael Stonge, Cassidy Phillips, and Bell had single assists.

The team then returned home on Sunday to beat Kainai 11-1.

Stonge had a hat trick and Ryden Mehlhaff and Komery each had two goals apiece.

Fitch, Brayden Kaye, Appleton and Phillips each scored singles. Alanna Makarchuk and Phillips each had two helpers apiece and Mehlhaff, Stonge, and Fitch had single assists.

BANTAM: Taber bantam Tier II Oil Kings played two games on the weekend starting off with a 7-4 victory over Medicine Hat on Friday.

Scott Loewen tallied twice and Gavin Hoskins, Kadin Reynolds, Ryan Mankow, Ryan McDonald and Mitch Young each had singles.

Daylen Parker had three assists with Ryan Hubble, McDonald and Loewen each having single helpers.

The team continued on to drop a 5-4 decision to Oyen on Saturday.

Hubble tallied twice and Loewen and Parker each had singles. Loewen also registered two assists with Hoskins,  Mankow and McDonald each getting single helpers.
