Work continues on the RR 19-0 Bridge/Culvert replacement, and Craig Ambler, Manager of Public Works and Infrastructure at the MD of Taber, is happy to share an update.
The project started with demolition work on October 20.
“An environmental sweep was conducted by an environmental services consultant on October 27, and the concrete girders were removed that same afternoon,” shares Ambler. “As of today (the time of the interview), the bridge culvert installation is nearly complete. The next phase will focus on surface treatments, including gravel base preparation (with gravel supplied by Riverbend Rock Products), asphalt pavement, and rip rap installation.”
As of the time of the interview, construction was expected to be complete by mid-November.
“In collaboration with engineering consultants, this upgrade aims to install a bridge culvert that requires less maintenance and provides safe, uninterrupted traffic flow, including for large farm equipment,” says Ambler. “This infrastructure improvement reflects the Municipal District of Taber’s ongoing commitment to safe, reliable roads for both motorists and agricultural traffic.”
