On Oct. 31, Taber will host its annual Halloween Party at the Community Centre auditorium for youth ages 12 and under. It’s a fun, safe alternative for youngsters who are salivating for the sweetest night of the year.

The Town of Taber sponsors the event along with numerous local businesses and individuals, and offers free hot dogs, trick or treat spots, games, and a haunted house. Keira Astalos, economic development assistant at the Town, described the scene as it has unfolded in years past.

“There’s nothing quite like seeing the pure excitement on the kids’ faces as they walk into the hall in their costumes,” she said. “Between the games, prizes, candy, and free hot dog supper, there’s something for every child to enjoy. We plan this event with the goal of creating a safe, fun, and inclusive space for kids 12 and under to celebrate Halloween with their families, and every year, the laughter and smiles make all the hard work worth it.”

Astalos said that each year, she’s amazed by how many local businesses, organizations, residents, and volunteers step forward to support the free event. The party is driven by community generosity in the form of candy donations, poster sales, and the volunteers who dedicate their evening to the kid-friendly Halloween bash.
