Local resident Jane Jensen is vying for a position on Village of Barnwell council in the upcoming municipal election on Oct. 20.

Having served previously, Jensen is looking to regain a position on council to help guide local affairs.

“I served on Barnwell Village council for 13 years, eight years ago. Since then I have retired from my full time nurse job. Several people suggested I run again, so here I go.”

Jensen hopes to maintain a tradition of fiscal responsibility.

“I want to see the Village continue to be financially responsible and a great place to live and raise families.”

Jensen is facing off against six other challengers for one of the five positions on village council, including Shayla Anderson, Del Bodnarek, Melissa Foster, Debra Hansen, Jacob Hiebert and Alexander (Sandy) Watts.

Anderson, Bodnarek, Foster, Hansen, Hiebert and Watts did not respond to questions posed by the Taber Times.
