Taber has a New Year’s baby for 2025.
Victor Psalmuel Apolonio was born on January 1 at exactly 11:44 a.m. at the Taber Health Centre.
Victor met his proud parents John Rey and Haidee Apolonio weighing in at 6 lbs 13 oz. and with a length of 19 3/4 inches.
Several years ago, Alberta Health Services stopped the practice of arranging contact with new parents or releasing other information about patients, including newborns.
Southern Alberta Newspapers, therefore, relies on the public to make contact for an unofficial determination.
Elsewhere, Alberta Health Minister Adriana LaGrange posted on social media Jan. 1 that the first baby born in the province in 2025 was a girl, Amira.
She arrived at the South Campus Hospital in Calgary at 12:02 a.m. on January 1, weighing four pounds 14.3 ounces.
