At roughly 7 p.m. on Monday, Taber RCMP responded to the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 3, 23 kilometers east of Taber. At the time, no traffic was able to pass through the collision scene, and RCMP asked motorists to avoid the area and take alternate routes. An RCMP collision reconstructionist was called in, and it was expected that the highway would be impassable for many hours.
At around 7:40 a.m. Dec. 10, Taber RCMP advised that the collision scene was now clear and normal traffic could resume on Highway 3.
Taber RCMP indicated another update with details regarding the collision was anticipated later in the day on Tuesday, but there was no further information released prior to press deadline.
